The Rink at 401 Park is Opening with a Carnival

Grab a pair of mittens and a cozy hat – The Rink at 401 Park opens this week with the biggest bash since summer.

Hibernation will have to wait. Get yourself over to Boston’s Winter Playground on December 18th, from 5 to 9 PM. We’re celebrating the start of skating season with a Grand Opening Carnival.

Come for the skating. Stay for the food, drinks, music, giveaways and performances.

THE SKATING

This party is all about skating off on the right foot, starting with major ticket discounts. You can get on the ice for FREE the entire day of the event.

Rent skates (for $6) or bring your own ($0). It’s up to you, as long as your feet are safe. Once you’re properly outfitted, get out there and skate like an olympian.

THE FOOD & DRINKS

Come hungry for all your festival favorites: hot dogs, cotton candy, fried dough.

For FREE snacks, you just need to be one of the first people to buy a beer at Trillium Fenway. They will be giving out raffle tickets to be redeemed at the carnival food carts to 200 customers.

You can also enjoy The Rink festivities from a different vantage point, drink in hand, by making a pit stop at Time Out Market’s patio. They will have a bar set up outside, with all the beverage options to keep you warm.

THE ENTERTAINMENT

They say a carnival is only as good as its performers. Luckily, this grand opening event will have the best performers.

Starting with the music, of course. DJ Ryan Brown is joining the party so we will have tunes all night long.

You should also keep an eye out for stilt walkers from the Boston Circus Guild (JK, you can’t miss them), and a Brilliant Ice artist who will be crafting a sculpture out of – you guessed it – ice.

But it’s not really a party until the performers skate. That’s why Joy Skate Productions will take to The Rink with an on-ice duet at 7 PM.

THE GIVEAWAYS

We will have complimentary favors for all, and a very awesome grand prize for one.

We’ve got goodies from shops and restaurants around The Rink, and we’re giving them all to a single winner.

From gift cards to experiences, and swag to tickets, the prize will include treats from Time Out MarketTrillium FenwayCB2, the FRIENDS Pop-Up, and Wine Press Fenway

BONUS GIVEAWAY

As the official sponsor of The Rink at 401 Park, REI is our partner in fun this winter.

At the carnival, you will find the REI team giving out their own grand prize. The winner (and one guest) will get to choose a guided day experience, and REI will outfit the explorers in extra warm, winter gear.
