First Look: Favorites From Alps & Meters’ Latest Collection

Winter is coming and you know what that can mean—snow-filled streets, endless shoveling and slush, slush, slush. But winter also brings with it good stuff: hot cocoa by the fire, mulled cider, weekend ski trips and—of course—cold-weather fashion. Slaying the slopes in style doesn’t hurt, after all.

Enter, The Fenway-based clothiers Alps & Meters. Because this neighborhood’s so rooted in tradition, and at the same time, ever-evolving and innovation-driven, Alps and Meters’ history-meets-modern outdoor performance line fits right in. In their latest collection, gorgeous gear blends classic garment construction, cutting-edge materials and unrivaled polish. The gentleman skier in us is ogling over everything.

So without further ado, here’s a look at some favorites from the collection, courtesy of Alps and Meters.

Alpine Hooded Vest
The Alpine Hooded Vest features a snap on / snap off hood, down fill and interior 10k/10k waterproof membrane, but our favorite feature? That'd be the exaggerated collar that’s lined in buttery soft Pittard’s leather. Zip up, it’s getting chilly!

Alpine Winter Trouser
Marrying a water-repellent wool exterior with an interior 10k/10k waterproof membrane, this timeless pant draws from a rich history of tailored design, while delivering maximum on mountain fit and protection. Zippers at the back of the calf unzip to fit over your ski boots and can be zipped down for a handsome tapered silhouette après ski. Pittard's leather accents make these trousers a piece that will last a few decades, not just a few seasons.

Northern Lights Optic NL9 Glacier Glasses
Designed in the mountains of British Columbia, this luxury eyewear brand channels the spirit of early alpine explorers and re-imagines classic silhouettes in first-class materials.Since discovering Northern Lights last year, we've taken them skiing in British Columbia, Park City, and  in Stowe, Vermont. As an ultra-sharp alternative to traditional ski goggles, we love how easily they travel and the leather sides to block any glare.

Darn Tough Heady Stripe Socks
We briefly considered manufacturing a ski sock, but held back when we realized that the perfect sock is already being made in the mountains of Vermont. Backed by a lifetime guarantee, Darn Tough Socks are just that—darn tough. We're big fans of both their ski and hiking socks. Our favorite pattern? The heady stripe...perfect for layering under your boots.

Want to get your hands on some of these beautiful pieces? Pop into the local Alps and Meters Workshop from Tuesday, October 11th through Saturday, December 31, from 9 am to 6 pm on 1369 Boylston Street, Boston, MA 02215! As part of the high taste, in-store experience, they’re partnering with Barismo Coffee who will have Barnum’s nitro cold brew available for purchase. They’re also holding a special screening of the 1969 Robert Redford classic Downhill Racer in the store on October 27 at 6:30 pm and a Winter Warmer party in early December (stay tuned for more details)!
