Taste of Fall in The Fenway

It FINALLY feels like it—fall has arrived. That means fantasy football, boots and booties, mums, tailgates, and most deliciously—a slew of fabulous flavors that absolutely scream fall. So how do you take your fall flavors? From drinks to dinners, lattes to lunch items, in The Fenway there are tons of ways to get your fall fix.

Coffee & Doughnuts

There’s more to fall beverages than just trading in our usual iced orders for drinks of a warmer variety. When a standard coffee or latte just won’t do, you can kick it up a notch with pumpkin spice, a drizzle of maple, or a dash of nutmeg on top.

Pavement is joining in the fall fun with its enticing Cinnamon Fig Latte—a shot of espresso and freshly steamed local milk made with a house-made syrup infused with figs and cinnamon.

And what better complement than an autumnal accompaniment from Blackbird Doughnuts? For a limited time, Sea Salted Toffee, Seasonal Berry Glazed, Pumpkin Spice and of course, the season’s staple, Old Fashioned Apple Cider donuts, are all up for grabs.

As September and October roll around, our salad bowls say sayonara to sweet strawberries and the lighter toppings of summer. As we hunker down in colder weather, you might throw a cobb into the rotation, or heap on the harvest like the delicata squash that graces Saloniki’s fall salad—on a bed of chopped kale with pomegranate molasses, dried cranberries, walnuts, red onions and a housemade vinaigrette.

And, of course, we can't talk salads without mentioning Sweetgreen’s fresh fall flavors. They have Curry Cauliflower bowls, Chicken + Brussels, and Apple Pear Cheddar salads galore! What a time to be alive!

Pair that salad with a bowl of something yummy to warm you up—this time of year is perfect for soups, stews, and chowders. For something sweet and spicy, Mei Mei’s shifting from a light summer curry to their Harvest Moon Curry, a Thai red curry with bok choy, Heiwa organic tofu, white rice and cabbage pickles. For our vegan friends, By Chloe has a delightful roasted garlic and cauliflower soup topped with maple wheat croutons.

Thanksgiving is still more than a month away, but if you’re looking for something to be thankful for a little early this year, Panera’s your bae. Feast on a Roasted Turkey Cranberry Flatbread or a Roasted Turkey, Apple and Cheddar sandwich—two specials you’re sure to gobble right up.

If you prefer strictly vegan options this season, By Chloe has got you covered. Craving apples? Try the apple, walnut and arugala avocado toast or apple cinnamon pancakes topped with apple compote. And quench your thirst with a cinnamon lemonade.

Adult Beverages

A toast to the beverages that are best enjoyed with a slight chill in the air! From oktoberfests and pumpkin beers to darker brown ales and porters, when the leaves start a’changing, mouths start a’watering. Seasonal favorites like Weihenstephaner Festbier and Dogfish Punkin Ale are available from now until Thanksgiving at Craft Beer Cellar. Dining at Tiger Mama? There’s a Jack’s Abby Oktoberfest, Two Road Hefeweizen, or a Citizen Cider by Unified Press with your name on it. If a mixed drink is more your thing, try out the Keke Spritz, Citizen Public House’s Downeast cider reduction plus soda water and prosecco. In the spirit of Oktoberfest—prost!

From apple crisp to pumpkin pie, it’s tough for other seasons to compete with the amazing desserts options that fall has to offer. If you don’t have time to channel your inner martha in the kitchen you can still get in on the flavor fun with a cup or cone of Emack & Bolio’s Maple Walnut, Pumpkin, and Madagascar Vanilla. If dairy’s not your thing, E&B offers a Vegan Apple Cinnamon Swirl to please your palate too.
