Get Your Kicks: Register Now for Summer Kickball in The Fenway

This summer, The Fenway community will become the 15th neighborhood in the city to offer an official seasonal kickball league organized by the Boston Ski & Sports Club. Now instead of just watching sports in The Fenway, you can participate too.

These 10-on-10 co-ed games will run from 7 to 9 p.m. under on the well-lit field at the Winsor School. So, besides having fun and making friends, you can also enjoy the prestige of playing in close proximity to Boston’s most famous outdoor diamond.

There is still space for more teams to enter, so act now. Neighborhood residents can apply as a team or individually for an eight-game season held Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning May 17th. Due to post-game bar outings, you must be over 21 to apply—otherwise, registration is open to anyone. With your team registration fee, BSSC provides referees, team jerseys, prizes and free parking!

Apply now at BSSC and join teams like Fresh Kicks of Ball Air, Make Kickball Great Again, Guac Costs Extra, Pitches Be Crazy, Can We Kick It? and Ball Me Maybe. With names like those you know you’re going to meet some fun and interesting people.

“Kickball is great because anyone can come out and play and not have the pressures of more competitive sports,” says Bryan Hickey, BSSC Day Ski Program Manager & Marketing Coordinator. “A sense of humor and some fun are definitely the focus of BSSC kickball leagues. It’s a great way to meet people as an individual, or put together a team that wants to be active and just have fun. Fenway is unique because it is one of our leagues in the heart of the city. The Winsor School provides an awesome backdrop to a friendly kickball game, and there are good bars nearby for an after-game drink with special BSSC promotions.”

Even if you don’t feel like joining the league, spectators are encouraged to show up and cheer on the players. Schedules will become available soon at
