The Fenway Shines on Top Chef

Boston is buzzing with Top Chef Season 12. And not just because of the mouthwatering culinary creations and nail-biting quick fire challenges. Sure, the cheftestants take center stage in the kitchen, but during their downtime, it’s their digs at 1330 Boylston that steal the spotlight. Skyline views and stunning interiors kept viewers tuned in even when chefs were taking a break from the high-stakes competition.

The high-end Fenway residence even got a shout-out in the Metro who commented 1330 Boylston was more than up to the challenge of housing the competitors. According to the article ‘How to live like a Top Chef contestant,’ it wasn’t easy finding a place to accommodate the cast, especially when taking the production needs into account. The cast was housed in 3 units, each with floor to ceiling windows, stainless steel appliances, and European-style cabinetry.

Top Chef actually has a second Fenway connection. Neighborhood hot-spot Sweet Cheeks BBQ is owned and operated by the runner-up from “Top Chef” season one and “Top Chef Duels,” Tiffani Faison. The Texas-style barbeque restaurant showcases why Faison is such a cherished chef in Boston (have you had the biscuits?). Faison made a surprise appearance in episode 6 “The First Thanksgiving,” where she takes the contestants to a cranberry bog on the south shore.

While the cast called our neighborhood home for a few months, they enjoyed the 1330’s green roof and pool, lounge, gym, and views of the city and Fenway Park. The building was chosen not only because it currently houses a few A-list residents (Red Sox players), but because it represents modern city living in Boston at its best, with restaurants, shops, parks and museums steps away and easy access to downtown areas. Learn more about where the cast lived and be sure to tune in Wednesdays at 10pm ET/PT on Bravo!
